The Hakusan Alpine Botanical Garden is open only once a year for a month and a half from early June to mid-July, when the flower fields are at their best. The botanical garden is located near the summit of Mt. Nishiyama (857 m above sea level), which offers a splendid view of Mt. Hakusan, one of the three most famous mountains in Japan along with Mt. FUJI and Mt. TATEYAMA. Currently, 100,000 alpine plants of about 50 varieties can be seen here. You can also enjoy a rice box lunch filled with the bounty of the Hakusan Rural Area while admiring the alpine flora that can only be enjoyed during this season. In the afternoon, we will visit the SHIRAMINE area, where unique architectural styles remain in one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan. Please enjoy the townscape with its unique architectural style, which was selected as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings (Shodenken) by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2012. Afterwards, enjoy a tour of “Ushikubi Tsumugi Weaving,” an intangible cultural asset designated by Ishikawa Prefecture, created by the history at the foot of snowy Hakusan, and its museum “Hakusan Workshop” with an explanation. This tour will allow you to fully enjoy the “Shiramine Area” at the foot of Mt. We hope you will take this opportunity to visit the Shiramine District!
