【Hakusan Alpine Botanical Garden】
The Hakusan Alpine Botanical Garden is open only once a year, from early June to mid-July, for a month and a half when the flower fields are at their best. Located near the summit of Nishiyama (857 meters above sea level), which offers a splendid view of “Hakusan,” one of the three most famous mountains in Japan (along with Mt. Fuji and Mt. Tateyama), visitors can view 100,000 alpine plants of about 50 species. Visitors can also enjoy an onigiri (rice ball) lunch box filled with the bounty of the Hakusan Rural Area in the botanical garden while viewing alpine plants that can only be enjoyed at this time of year.
